| Learn About Our On-Line Learning
The purpose of analytic tools in diagnosis is to improve
deductive ability through “revelation of the
complex, not complication of the simple,” as
described by Edward Tufte. Good graphics and proper
analysis can make properly chosen information quite
revealing, and exciting.
“Revelation of the complex” is what we
do and teach at The New Science of Fixing Things; teaching
tools is part of that.
At the New Science of Fixing Things, we work with Oxygen Education, www.o2ed.com an award-winning learning development company, to teach diagnostic tools online. The chapters are graphically pleasing, interactive, simple, and effective. The learner is empowered to review, give themselves short tests, and skip parts already understood. The learner is in control of the pace and schedule.
The online chapters can stand alone, or be taken in preparation for Convergent Diagnostics for Variation Reduction and How Stuff Really Works which are dedicated to the art of good tactics and solving tough problems fast.
Each chapter will emphasize how to effectively apply the tools in the context of diagnosis, covering:
- Tool Description
- Why Use it in Diagnosis?
- What NOT to use it for
- Common presentation pitfalls that must
be avoided
- Manual and Spreadsheet Plotting Procedure
- Interpretation—Things to look for
- Examples encountered
